IFC Board approves $300 million to help expand the Panama Canal

The Panama Canal, which serves 5% of the world's maritime trade, is one of the world's most important waterways. As time passes by, the need to expand and enlarge the capacity of the Canal is more necessary than ever.

The project will need around $5 billion dollars. In line with this, the IFC Board, a member of the World Bank Group, announced that it will lend the Panama Canal Authority $300 million to help with the construction.

Paraguay backed by IDB's TFFP

Inter - American Development Bank (IDB) announced it first transaction in Paraguay with Interbanco S.A. with its Trade Finance Facilititation Program (TFFP) which will guarantee accounts of Interbanco a support amounting to almost $5.1 million. The large sum of money will be used in five single important transaction of agroindutrial machineries and products from Brazil to Paraguay. More details about the transaction on the link below.

Protest by the People of Paraguay: Issues Needed to be Resolved

A country is nothing without its people, usually this is what various government neglects and forget about. Corruption has been slowly eating the society and the government with the common people being the victim and the ones whose suffering.
