EU Signs Agreement with Paraguay

Euopean airlines have an all clear to fly into Paraguay since they signed an aviation agreement with Paraguay removing nationality restrictions in the bilateal services agreement. They are now attempting to build a similar agreement with Chile and Uruguay.

Two Stories One Reality

It is said that President George W. Bush bought 98,840 acres of "ranchland" in Paraguay. There are some who say no he didn't and others who are screaming "Cover Up". A few links in this article need to be translated but loosely translated it shows that in fact he did purchase the property and is trying to cover it up.

Fernando Lugo Leads the Race

Despite and in fact defying the demand from the Holy See that he withdraw from the Presidential race retired Bishop Fernando Lugo is now the forerunner in the polls with respect to the 2008 election. Lugo originally resigned from all priestly functions to take up the banner for the poor, the oppressed and the downtrodden.

The 20th Presdiential Summit of Rio Group to Begin Friday

Guyanese President Bharat Jagdeo asked that the twenty member countries of the group centre on the issues linked to social development and leave commercial affairs to second place. Paraguay President together with presidents from Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela and Brazil are confirmed to be in attendance.

Fernado Lugo Requestion Health Minister Be Removed

Paraguayan health authorities admit that 13,000 cases of classic dengue fever and more than 20 of the most dangerous hemorrhagic type have turned up. Based on the fact that the fever does not seem to be abating Lugo has requested the replacement of Public Health Minister Oscar Martinez Doldan.

Women of Paraguay Write Service

The 2007 World Day of Prayer which will be celebrated by 170 countries March 2nd had the services written by the women of Paraguay. This service will introduce the world to Paraguay's unique culture and heritage. The World Day of Prayer was first organized by North American Women in 1920.
